Kakadu & Katherine Gorge

 Hi Everyone!

A few pics from Kakadu (we weren't overly fussed on Kaka-don't - as some travellers called it!) but it was still nice.  We loved Katherine and Katherine Gorge but couldn't stay for too long. Our dinner cruise on the Katherine River was absolutely fabulous, 3 course dinner was yum-o!! If you are ever up this way, you must go see this specky part of NT. Also FYI, a few people have mentioned that they're unable to post comments etc. I'm not sure if you have to be a follower to do so??? But try that if you are wanting to post any comments, we would love to hear from you!! Or if you figure out how to do it, please let me know!!

Hope you enjoy the pics!

Entering Kakadu National Park.

Bukbukluk Lookout. We stopped for some tuna & tomato on crackers for lunch here.

Cahills Crossing at Ubirr just north of Jabiru NT.

Rick throwing a line at Cahills Crossing......unsuccessful...no fish for dinner that night!

Toyota Ute towing a truck full of supplies across the river.

Katherine River.......spot Rick!

The Honeymooners overlooking Katherine River......was so beautiful!

Some very interesting info about the Katherine River......and good excuse to take a rest on our hike!

One of the tours on offer exploring the Katherine River.

When we came back from our hike, this Wallaby was near our camp.....she was not shy at all eating out of my hand!

Our dinner cruise boat getting ready for us!!

Before our dinner cruise on the Katherine River, part of the tour was seeing all 3 gorges, suppose to be only
2 gorges so we were very fortunate to get all 3. Rick looking super excited!!!!

Absolutely striking colours of the sandstone!

Hopping off our boat at the 1st gorge to get to our other boat to see the 2nd gorge.

Our short walk to our boat, Rick quickly spun around to take this photo!

Our 2nd boat.

For some reason I cant turn the vertical photos up so this photo is actually sightings of croc tracks!!

The black on the sandstone is actually algae growing from water seepage.

Woo Hoo! Our first freshwater croc sighting haha!! We were pretty excited! This was only a small one though.

Lead up to the 2nd gorge. This part of the river is actually where beautiful pics are taken for promotional purposes etc.

Another Freshwater Croc!! And this one was not moving anytime soon.....look at its belly!
Very fat with something for dinner!

We were VERY relaxed by this stage!!

Our dinner cruise awaiting!!!!

Champagne on arrival with wild hibiscus! Rick was horrified when I ate the hibiscus
until I convinced him to try it and he was pleasantly surprised!

We sat with some really lovely people, made the experience even more enjoyable!

The sandy bank we stopped at for dinner on the Katherine River. The weather was absolutely perfect!

Sunset

Another great end to a great couple of days.....till next time!!
